January 2026

In the Fall of 2024, St. Andrew’s conducted a series of research and discussion sessions to determine our path forward following a congregational decision to initiate and promote a community project focused on addressing people affected by insecurities in health, home, and companionship. During 2025, though it took some time for us to get established and find our rhythm, the committee has now found strong footing in one vital area—providing hot meals to those in need.

During the last quarter of 2025, St. Andrew’s served approximately 300 meals to individuals and families in Hart and Elbert Counties. With a third of our members being helping hands, we provide monthly meals. There is a sit-down meal inside our fellowship hall or take-out. We’ve also had a drive-by and pick-up option. In addition, meal kits have become another meaningful way for members to serve, offering practical support to families who need a little extra help. These kits are prepared in advance and shared as needs arise.

We now work with other denominations and have been blessed by the support of members from Christian Worship Assembly, who have helped spread the word and, on several occasions, have assisted us with the events.

Our community meal outreach is becoming multifaceted. Many of the people we serve have other life issues. This has sparked a calling to help even more. Ideas of other ministries are being discussed: working to find shelters, helping the lonely and those dealing with mental health. Feeding the hungry is just the beginning.

Also, once each month, several members of our team—affectionately known as the “Super Soupers”—provide lunches of soup and sandwiches for Hart Hope and Freedom, a substance recovery organization. This ministry is carried out in partnership with three other churches in Hart County.
